PRIORITIES

Vermonters know what matters.

I’m running for the Vermont Senate because I believe government should work for people, not the other way around. Local voices deserve to be heard at the Statehouse.

The challenges we tackle and the victories we celebrate bring us together, shape the communities we love and the priorities that are important to us.

I’ve spent years working at the local level, listening to neighbors, helping solve everyday problems, and making tough decisions with real people in mind. From streets and schools to budgets and housing, that experience has shaped how I approach public service: practical, collaborative, and grounded in what actually works.

In the Senate, I will focus on these priorities to help Vermonters:

Break the housing bottleneck.

More housing, more quickly is the key.

Vermont needs more homes so people can afford to live in the communities they love. That means cutting red tape , supporting smart growth, and working with local communities and partners to create housing options that work for people at different stages of life.

Commit to an education system that works for all Vermonters.

We can and must come together on an education system that delivers high quality education for our kids at a sustainable cost for Vermonters.

We can do this by encouraging regional approaches, transforming the education funding formula, and supporting schools and teachers to improve student outcomes.

Reduce the cost of healthcare for all Vermonters.

Everyone deserves access to healthcare they can afford, close to home.

We must lower premiums and prescription costs, reduce wait times, strengthen mental health and substance use services, and support Vermonters as they age.

Take a multifaceted approach to public safety.

Safe communities are built on trust, prevention, and accountability.

We must foster strong collaboration of local police, courts, social services, and treatment programs throughout Chittenden County to ensure everyone can enjoy our public spaces safely.

Foster thriving local economies.

Strong communities depend on good jobs, local businesses, and reliable infrastructure.

Communities succeed when working families feel supported, pathways to good jobs exist, and small businesses and nonprofits thrive. Strong local economies also require reliable infrastructure and statewide systems that work effectively and predictably.

Prioritize the needs of children and families.

When families are supported, communities are stronger.

Vermont families must be able to meet their basic needs, rely on public services, and feel safe and supported in their homes and communities.

Protect Vermont from federal overreach and chaos.

Vermont has a long tradition of standing up for its values and its people.

We must protect Vermont’s immigrant communities against violations of their rights and dignity. We must do everything possible to prevent and withstand funding cuts to benefits, healthcare subsidies, and infrastructure, and resist deployment of Vermont’s resources to further authoritarian federal demands
